Terms of use
AudioTamer · Last updated September 7, 2026
AudioTamer is a Mac volume and equalizer utility from XenoCode Inc. These terms explain its use and the limits of audio processing.
Your licence
For copies obtained through the Mac App Store, use of AudioTamer is governed by Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement and the applicable App Store terms. This page provides additional product information and does not replace that licence. TestFlight builds are also subject to Apple’s applicable beta-testing terms.
Use AudioTamer only as permitted by that licence and applicable law. XenoCode retains ownership of AudioTamer. Third-party Audio Units remain subject to their developers’ licences.
Audio processing and volume
AudioTamer reduces volume and applies effects to the current system output. It is not a hearing-protection device or a guaranteed volume limiter. Equalizer settings and Audio Unit effects can increase sound levels.
Turning processing off, quitting the app, changing the audio setup, or a processing failure may restore unprocessed audio, which can be louder. Set your Mac and output device to a comfortable underlying volume before enabling, disabling, or troubleshooting AudioTamer.
Requirements and compatibility
AudioTamer requires macOS 15 or later and permission to access system audio. Settings apply to the current system output; the app is not a per-app mixer or a simultaneous multi-output processor.
Compatibility depends on your Mac, operating system, audio device, and any Audio Units you install. We cannot guarantee compatibility with every device or plug-in. Audio changes, sleep and wake, or operating-system updates may interrupt processing.
Purchases and refunds
Where AudioTamer is offered through the Mac App Store, Apple displays the applicable price and handles payment and refund requests under its store terms. Any price or availability shown in your local App Store takes precedence over general information on this website.
Privacy
See the AudioTamer privacy policy for how the app processes audio locally and how website visits and support enquiries are handled.
Warranty and your rights
The warranty and liability provisions of the applicable licence govern your use of AudioTamer. Nothing on this page excludes or limits consumer rights, warranties, or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Updates and support
Features and compatibility may change with updates. We will revise this page and its date when this product information changes.
