Privacy policy

Sunscreen · Last updated October 22, 2026

Sunscreen processes your songs entirely on your Mac. The app does not collect personal data, and your songs are never uploaded or sent to XenoCode.

About this policy

Sunscreen is made by XenoCode Inc. This policy explains how the Sunscreen app, these product pages, and support enquiries handle information.

Your songs

Sunscreen reads only the songs and folders you add to it, and writes results only to the output folder you choose (~/Music/Sunscreen unless you pick another). Processing happens on your Mac. Sunscreen makes no network connections to process audio, and does not send your songs, the results, or their tags anywhere.

Your original files are never modified. Results, including the reports and spectrograms Sunscreen writes beside them, stay in your output folder until you delete them.

Settings stored on your Mac

Your processing choices, loudness target, file format, and output folder are stored locally on your Mac, along with a count of finished songs used to decide when to show Apple’s rating prompt. Sunscreen does not send these settings to XenoCode.

No account is required. The app includes no advertising, analytics SDK, or tracking. XenoCode has no server-side Sunscreen profile or history to retrieve or delete.

Apple services

Apple handles App Store purchases, ratings, and TestFlight distribution, including information you choose to share through Apple’s diagnostic or feedback features, under Apple’s privacy policy.

If you contact support

When you email support@xenocode.co.jp, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send, such as a song’s report. We use that information to respond and investigate the issue. Please include only information relevant to your request.

Support correspondence is handled through our email service and retained as needed to resolve and follow up on your enquiry or meet legal obligations. You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information you have sent us.

These web pages

The XenoCode website uses Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate visits, such as pages viewed, referral sources, browser types, and approximate locations. Plausible does not use cookies or persistent identifiers. See Plausible’s data policy for details.

Our website hosting and delivery services also process ordinary connection information, such as IP addresses and requested URLs, to serve and protect the site. Website analytics are separate from Sunscreen and never receive your songs or app settings.

Changes and contact

We will update this page if these practices change and revise the date above.

For privacy questions or requests, contact XenoCode Inc. at support@xenocode.co.jp.
